technology in the classroom
Socrative, Chalkboard, Draw, and Meteor Math are just a few of the apps that teachers at Haskin are using to enhance student learning. Technology in the classrooms is evident to all who enter our school. Classroom teachers and students are using technology to enhance their teaching and learning each and every day. On Monday, February 10, Haskin Elementary School hosted a slew of principals from across the San Luis Valley. They were all very impressed the way our teachers and students were using technology for learning and instruction. Our visitors were very impressed with the amount of technology that we are using. They were also impressed with the amount of classroom instruction that is happening, the wonderful classroom management and how well our students behave. Nice work!!
parent/teacher conferences
Parents and the relationships that they share with their child's teachers have been researched for many years now. These studies have concluded that when a parent is actively involved with their child's education, it benefits all involved in one way or another. Communication is one of the top strategies for fostering the relationships that grow between a parent and the educators that work with their child. The educational system is faced with many challenges and obstacles, and when parents and teachers communicate effectively these may be successfully overcome. Haskin Parent-Teacher conferences provide a venue for parents and teachers to connect and discuss the importance of their child's education along with the academic successes and struggles that a child has had thus far in the school year. The two days dedicated to conferring with parents were invaluable.
